The Seattle Ultrasonics C-200 8″ Chef’s Knife redefines what a kitchen blade can be. Harnessing ultrasonic vibrations at ~44 kHz, it glides through ingredients with up to 50% less force, reducing effort, stickiness, and cleanup.

Beyond its groundbreaking performance, the knife is crafted with uncompromising precision: Japanese AUS-10 san-mai steel hardened to 60 HRC, a razor-sharp 13° per-side edge, and a removable lithium-ion battery that powers countless meals.

It handles like any chef’s knife—rock-chop herbs, smash garlic, dice vegetables—but with one difference: press the orange button and you unlock its hidden advantage. No handle vibration. No sound. Just effortless slicing.

I had the privilege of guiding this product through industrial design, user experience, and packaging architecture—from ideation and refinement to engineering collaboration and CMF strategy. At every step, I focused on how this breakthrough technology would shape user behavior. After centuries of tradition, this marks the first true evolution of the kitchen knife.
