At Mvnifest, we create realistic, feasible, and beautifully crafted products for the mass market. No exceptions were made to our ideology when we were approached with a revolutionary idea to disrupt the pilates industry. WundaBar, an established pilates studio with a nationwide presence introduced an idea that would change any ordinary pilates ring putting them in the dinosaur age.

Amy Jordan, the Founder, and CEO of WundaBar found the biggest issues with all pilates rings are the shape and flexibility of the products. This is why our approach was to design a product that embraces the human curvatures while providing flexible areas for the most important workouts.

The Strategy

Using my experience in unibody silicone products, my approach to this product was similar to how I successfully designed GIR: Get it Right products. By understanding how materials such as nylon and silicone come to play, I successfully integrated a surface treatment in the inner nylon core to not only provide structure but flexibility in sections where the product needed it the most.

This is the very beginning of the product development process, where I start with concepts from mild to wild with a targeted beneficial feature sets in mind.
This is where concept starts to turn into reality, by keeping common manufacturing methods in mind with a nod to creative hardware design to optimize a balance in BOM cost and quality of end product.
This is where I ensure proper industrial design elements for individual products are carried through manufacturing verification tests.

Once individual products receive my approval, this is where we begin to incorporate creative exporting methods to ship products from overseas to the associated distribution centers.
